ABC's

I've been tagged, so here are some fun little facts:

A- Attached or single: Marvelously married

B- Best Friend: Husband, mom, sister

C-Cake or Pie: How do you choose between two such delicious desserts?

D- Day of Choice: Probably Saturdays, we usually get stuff done around the house and do something fun as a family.

E- Essential Item: Diaper bag, it's a must with babies.

F- Favorite Color: I've always said blue is my favorite color, but lately I really like yellow. It's so happy and cheerful.

G- Gummy Bears or Worms: Bears, preferrably chocolate covered. YUMMY!

H- Hometown: Born & raised in Southern California, but moved to Las Vegas when I was a junior in high school and now consider it to be home. This is where I graduated from high school & college and got married.

I- Indulgence(s): Hmmm, I'm pretty bad about just eating whatever I want, so this is a tough one. I guess I'd have to say pizza and Cold Stone ice cream.

J- January or July: Since my birthday is in January I'd probably have to say that, but I do love those summer months. Not to mention, 4th of July is always a blast.

K-Kids: I have a two and a half year old girl and 6 month old son...and most days I still want more! =)

L-Life is incomplete without: The gospel of Jesus Christ, my family (Great answer Julie, I think I'll stick with it)

M- Marriage Date: September 28, 2002 (Funny story, the other day Jared had to write our wedding day down for something and he wrote 2003, neither one of us realized that wasn't right until hours later. I guess if neither one of us can remember it's okay huh?)

N- Number of Siblings: 2, an older sister and younger brother. I also have some amazing brothers and sisters in law.

O-Oranges or Apples: I probably prefer oranges, but buy apples more often...gala of course.

P-Phobias or Fears: This is probably going to sound dumb, but I am very afraid of uncovered windows at night. As soon as it starts getting dark I have to close all of the curtains/blinds. I think big open windows are beautiful in a house, but I could never live in one without being able to cover them...I would be terrified!

Q-Quote(s): Whatever! What's the matter with you?! Oh my goodness! You really learn what things you say a lot when your kids start to say them too...I guess I better be careful!

R- Reason To Smile: Urban's giggle, when Addison says "I love you", when Jared brings me flowers or says I look pretty.

S-Season: This one is tough, they're all so great for different reasons. I guess Summer, even though it's super hot here it's fun to go swimming and we usually go on some sort of trip.

T-Tag Ten: I don't know 10 people with blogs, but I tag Mom, Heather, Debbie, Nick, Melanie, Jennifer, Jamie, Christy & Dawniele.

U-Unknown Fact About Me: I don't know if this is unknown or not, but I'm kind of a control freak. I have a really hard time letting people help me, not because I'm proud which is thought by some people, but because I like things done a certain way and I know that if I don't do them myself then they'll probably get done somewhat differently than how I like. I know, I'm a WEIRDO!

V- Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: I didn't eat meat for almost ten years, but now I just can't get enough of it's yummy goodness. I think I'm making up for lost times. =)

W- Worst Habit: I'm not sure, it would probably be best to ask my husband about this one. I have a bad habit of noticing grammatical errors, either in writing or in people's speech. I don't do it on purpose, my mind is just always automatically on editing mode, I can't help it. I try really hard not to correct people though (except for my poor husband) because I know that's super annoying. Although people sure like to point out my mistakes...I guess it's payback.

X- X-Rays or Ultrasounds: Definitely ultrasounds. It's so amazing to see your babies developing inside of you.

Y- Your Favorite Food: I have a problem too Julie, because I also like ALMOST EVERYTHING. In fact, off the top of my head I can't think of anything I don't like. Pastas are always good, as are tacos, chocolate, ribs, avocados, cherries...Oh I could go on forever!

Z-Zodiac: Capricorn

Our new ward

IS WONDERFUL!!!
We went to our new ward for the first time yesterday and it was so nice...WE LOVE IT! One of the many great things about our church is that it's the same everywhere, and no matter where we go we have a place to worship and learn about the gospel. Well it's even better when you feel like you totally fit into your ward. I know it really shouldn't matter, but having a good ward really does make a difference. We've been in wards before that we don't really feel like we belong to and it makes it really hard to go and feel the spirit. That's why we are SO EXCITED about this ward. First of all it's a lot smaller than our last ward (I think any ward is a lot smaller than our last one since it had around 800 members) and I think we talked to every single person. Everyone kept coming up to us and introducing themselves and telling us how excited they were to have us there. Everybody was so nice, I just couldn't believe it. We even made friends already, we exchanged numbers with another couple so we can get together to play guitar hero and rock band. Addison did great in nursery, there's even another Addi. It was so funny because they kept telling us that they had two nurseries because there were so many kids, and there were probably only about 6 or 7 other kids in there. This is funny to us because when Jared & I were in nursery in our previous ward we had 3 nurseries that regularly had between 18-25 kids each. Anyway, I was just so impressed with our ward I had to write about it to let everyone know.
***On a side note, Urban was being a little fussy during Sunday School so I took him out into the hallway. Well all of the sudden something caught his attention and he stopped crying. He actually started smiling and giggling, so I turned to see what it was. Well, it was a picture of Jesus hanging on the wall and Urban could not get enough of it. It was like he was having a conversation with Him. It was absolutely adorable. It reminded me of a time when Addison was about 4 months old. We had gone to the church book store and she was not happy. I picked her up out of her stroller and she just kept crying. Then the same thing happened, she stopped fussing and started smiling and laughing. Only it really caught me off guard because she had not started laughing yet. So I looked to see what was making her so happy, and you guessed it, it was a picture of Jesus. (man, just writing about this is bringing tears to my eyes) I love when stuff like this happens, it really fills me with the spirit and reminds me of how truly blessed I am to have my two amazing children and the wonderful gospel in my life.

Happy Easter

I know I'm a week late posting this, but I'm still recovering from all of the fun we had last weekend. Our Easter was wonderful! My parents were here, my sister and her family came to visit from Utah, and my grandma and her cute little chihuahua Ricky came from California. It was a full house, but it was SO NICE having so much family around.

The 5 days everyone was here went by way too fast, but we all had a blast. We ate, shopped, played Guitar Hero, went to the movies to see Horton Hears A Who, had a BBQ, played at the park, shopped & ate some more...you get the idea. We always have so much fun when we're all together, I hate for it to end. Luckily though, living in Las Vegas I think we'll get to see one another a lot more often and we're still close enough to Jared's family for weekend trips.

Then on Easter Sunday we all met up at a park with my Uncle Greg & Aunt Marcia and my cousins Gregory, Jeff, Jennifer & Matt and all of their adorable families. We have not all been together in so long, it was great to see each other again and catch up. It was the first time some of us had seen each other's kids. I LOVE MY FAMILY! I feel so blessed to have grown up in a family that gets along so well and truly enjoys spending time together.

Once again I was horrible at taking pictures, but here are a few that I got.

Blaise & Caiden had been trying all weekend to pet our cat, but she just kept running away from them (I guess she's used to Addi torturing her) finally on the last day she warmed up and let them get near her.

The kids (& Bapa) heading outside to look for their Easter baskets.

Just give me a kiss okay

I was giving Addison a bath this morning and for some reason the cat loves to sit on the edge of the tub and watch. She is very curious about water, although like most cats doesn't want to be in it. Anyway, Addison did something that spooked her and she fell in. Well in the process of clawing all about trying to get out she got Addison. Poor Addi has two long scratches that go from her chest down past her belly button. It was so sad because she just looked at me like she didn't quite know what to do or how to react. I was trying to keep her calm and was explaining to her that I was going to clean it up and put some medicine on it to help it feel better. In the middle of my explanation she looked up at me so sweetly and barely started pouting and said "just give me a kiss okay". It was so precious and innocent, like she truly believed that all I had to do was kiss it and it would make it all better. So of course I gave her lots of kisses and when I was done she said it didn't hurt any more. I love how pure children's thoughts are, it would be so interesting to know what's going on in their little heads all of the time. It's moments like these that make me stop and really appreciate my little ones and forget, if only for a moment, how ornery they can sometimes be. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go find that cat and "cut it's tail off right behind it's ears" for hurting my little girl. (Anyone who knew my grandpa knows what I'm talking about!)

Well we're movin' on up!

I don't know that we're actually moving up (I guess literally in the direction sense of the word) but we have moved. We are now in Las Vegas again and I am so excited to start this new journey in our lives. We moved here for Jared's schooling, and while we've still got a LONG way to go, I know it will be the best move for our family. We'll be busy unpacking and getting the house together for a little while so I probably won't post for a few days, but I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on. By the way, thank you so much to everyone who helped us with the move, especially Ron & Dianna. They drove one of our cars here for us then helped us unload. Thanks again for everything!
