HOORAY FOR BATHS!!!

This is kind of a boring blog, but it's mostly for Heather's benefit. I figured I should let her know that I guess sometimes big sisters do know best. There aren't any fun pictures, as I thought posting pictures of me in the tub would be a bit inappropriate. =) Heather LOVES to take baths, and it's just something that I've never really been into for some reason. Well, as most of you know I just spent a week in Utah with Heather and her family and she took several baths while I was there. Everytime she'd go to take one she'd ask why I don't ever take baths because they're just so peaceful and relaxing. I really didn't have a reason to give her, I just don't. We must have had this conversation 4 or 5 times while I was there. Anyway, yesterday was a terrible day. I was nauseous and throwing up all day, then towards the end of the day I couldn't stand up without feeling like I was going to pass out. I am just SO SICK of being sick (seeing as how it's been over 3 months now) that mentally, physically and emotionally I had just had it. For some reason my chest and back hurt really bad every time I took a breath. Then to top it all off Addison was really fussy in the evening. So, enough of my pity party. I'm not looking for sympathy, I know lots of women are pregnant and sick all the time. My point is, after putting Addison to bed I decided to put Heather's bath theory to the test. I filled up the tub with warm water and fragrant bubbles, then I dimmed the lights and lit some candles in the bathroom. It felt so good just to step into the bathtub, then as I sunk down further aches and pains started to disappear. I laid there relaxing for about 20 minutes or so, and it was just what I needed. When I got out I was calmer and felt better over all. I LOVE BATHS, WOO-HOO!!! I can't wait for my next one. Thanks Heather!

MY SILLY BOO!

I hope this post isn't offensive to anyone, but Jared and I thought it was so funny we laughed hysterically for about half an hour. Addison and I got back from Utah yesterday (I'll post trip info later) and she was just exhausted. She wanted to go to bed around 7:45 last night which is early for her (I guess Heather's kids rubbed off). So I changed her into a nightgown and put her to sleep. A little while later Jared went in to check on her and came out of her room cracking up saying grab the camera you have to see this! So I went in there to see what was going on. Upon first entering the room all we could see were Addi's two legs hanging out of the slats of her crib, which was funny in itself. Then as we got closer we saw "her bare butt staring us in the face" (Jared's words). She had taken off her diaper and her nightgown was pulled up fully exposing her cute little tushy. After further inspection we also noticed that she was using her diaper as a pillow. Yes, disgusting I know, but still quite funny. Anyway, I just had to take a picture showing off my little weirdo! I love that girl!!!

The Zoo

We decided to take Addison to the zoo this past Saturday since we figured it would be our last chance before it got too hot to step outside for the rest of the summer. It was the perfect day to go. The temp was somewhere in the 80's and there was a nice cool breeze. Addison absolutely LOVED it! She is in such an animal phase right now. All she ever wants to do is look at puppies on the computer or watch animal planet. We had so much fun walking around the zoo. Addison would point out all of the animals and tell us what they were. Everything was either a puppy, kiki (kitty) or bird (imagine her saying bird the way Bambi says it for the first time, it's too cute), as those are the animals she knows how to say. She liked the monkeys, although she calls them "mommees". Not quite sure what to think of that! =) She enjoyed the entire zoo, but the petting zoo was her favorite. Give that girl a stinky animal to chase around and goat pellets to fall into and she's in HEAVEN! It was so cute to watch her. They hand out brushes to brush the goats and sheep with and she thought that was the best since she's always trying to brush mommy & kitty's hair at home. She would walk up to one animal and start to brush it, then as it ran away she'd just chase it saying "puppy bye-bye". I was really surprised how quickly she just jumped in there and started playing with the animals. She had absolutely no fear. At one point one of the sheep who was not very friendly head-butted her and knocked her over. She didn't even flinch, she just got up and moved on to a more friendly "puppy". That about sums up our zoo adventure. Addi could have spent all day petting the animals, but we eventually had to leave. She fell asleep the minute we got in the car, having sweet dreams of being a zoo keeper I'm sure.
